About Randomly: free Tools for shared decisions.
Randomly is an independently operated collection of free, browser-first Tools for people who need to choose an Entry, set an order, or make a low-stakes group activity visible. There is no account to create, and the Tool interface keeps Entries in the visitor’s browser by default.
What Randomly provides
The Wheel makes one visible random Selection from a reviewed list. The Race removes one eligible Entry per round until one Winner remains. Five classroom Templates provide practical starting configurations, while the adult Teams, Parties, and Decisions collections explain when a random Tool fits a real task.
Every Tool remains usable without payment, sign-in, an email address, or a cloud profile. Presentation Mode provides a distraction-reduced, ad-free view for a shared screen. Suitable Setups can be saved on the current device or shared through a readable URL fragment without creating a hosted account.
Who the Tools are for
Randomly is written for the adult facilitator or decision maker who prepares the eligible list and explains the rule. Teachers can use conservative classroom workflows; meeting facilitators and hosts can resolve low-stakes participation or activity choices; individuals can use a reviewed personal shortlist. The site does not ask children to create accounts or profiles.
How a Selection works
The Wheel, Race, and Order Tool ask browser Web Crypto for random values. A Selection or complete order is committed before its result is revealed, so changing motion or timing does not silently choose another outcome. The randomness method documents rejection sampling, repeat rules, verification steps, and what this browser process cannot prove.
How visitor information is handled
Entries and saved Setups stay in browser storage by default. A Shared Setup places readable configuration after the URL fragment marker, which browsers do not send in ordinary page requests; anyone who receives the full URL can still read it. Randomly does not need Entry labels, Winner text, account identifiers, or exact Shared Setup URLs for aggregate product measurement. The Privacy notice states the storage, analytics, classroom, vendor, and advertising boundaries in detail.
How guidance is made and reviewed
Field Notes and Templates are written around a distinct user task, checked against the behavior of the live Tool, and reviewed for truthful links, privacy limits, accessibility language, and situations where human judgment must override randomness. Dated external claims use direct sources where they are necessary. See the public Editorial standards for vocabulary, corrections, source, and update rules.
How Randomly is funded and operated
Randomly is designed as an advertising-supported project, but advertising is not active on every build or route. Any future ad must be clearly labelled and separated from controls, outcomes, and Randomly’s own navigation. Classroom Templates, Presentation Mode, legal and privacy pages, shared URLs, and active result states are excluded from advertising. Blocking or declining an eligible ad must never block a Tool action.
Randomly is an independently operated project. Product, privacy, accessibility, policy, and correction questions can be sent to hello@tryrandomly.com or through the Contact page. Do not include student names, Entry lists, or Shared Setup contents in a message.
What a random Tool cannot decide
Randomness can apply a rule to the Entries supplied; it cannot verify that the list is complete, safe, lawful, accessible, or appropriate. Randomly is not a substitute for professional, safeguarding, medical, legal, employment, financial, disciplinary, prize, or consent decisions. A teacher, host, or facilitator remains responsible for eligibility, a safe pass, reasonable adjustments, corrections, and what happens after a Selection. The Termsdescribe these limits.
